President's Day
Weekend Jambando Sunday ? Hello everyone
from Team Sonar! This is a friendly reminder that
Sonar will be playing on Sunday, February 20 th
at Slingapour's, located in Downtown Orlando on
Wall Street for a special President's Day weekend
Jambando. Local rock group Red will join Sonar
for a great evening of music. Admission is free
and there will be drink specials all night long,
so come out and help celebrate! This will also
mark the last Sonar performance in its current
form. March will see the band some time away from
playing to regroup and continue to work on new
material. And now, with great pleasure?.
A New Addition ? It is with
great pleasure that we announce that Sonar has
a new member. The band welcomes Pete Orenstein
to the group on the Hammond B-3 Organ and keyboards.
Pete has spent the past 6 years with Florida's
Kynda, who just recently announced their plans
to disband after 2 final shows at Reilly's in
Orlando on February 19 th & 20 th . Originally
hailing from New Jersey, Pete honed his chops
at the Berklee School of Music and has been making
noise in the Florida music scene ever since, playing
with other groups such as Bluesberry Jam and jazz
outfit Bonobos. As such, Sonar will be spending
much of February and March in the rehearsal room,
working on new material and reworking songs currently
in rotation. Our first show with the new lineup
is scheduled for April 9 th on Wall Street for
Rock The Block. All shows that were previously
booked in March have been cancelled in order to
focus on getting the group acclimated and up to
speed. However, we hope to see everyone out for
a fun filled evening of music as we give a warm
welcome to our newest addition, it will surely
be a night not to be missed.
